Job Summary
Senior Controls Engineer leading design and execution of water and power automation projects for North America, focusing on automation solutions for water, wastewater, and power facilities. Responsibilities include leading application design, managing engineering plans, resource planning, technical leadership, customer engagement, collaboration with hardware design/procurement, monitoring project performance and finances, mentoring engineers, contributing to pursuits and lifecycle services, and advancing engineering best practices. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or equivalent), 5+ years of experience in control systems (DCS/PLC), ability to travel up to 20%, and US work authorization. Emphasis on Emerson procedures, cross-functional teamwork, and delivering high-quality results across a variety of infrastructure projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, technical discipline, or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in water or wastewater industry
- Experience designing, implementing, or supporting control systems using Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and/or Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) platforms
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary project teams involving engineering, project management, and field service
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and develop practical solutions
- Proficiency with standard engineering tools, documentation practices, and project tracking methods
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements
- Preferred: 7+ years of experience; BS in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering; experience with Emerson technologies; experience cross-disciplinary collaboration
