Job Summary
Design and develop electronics for harsh topsides and subsea environments, managing designs from conception through end of life. Perform troubleshooting and circuit analysis of digital, analog, and power circuits while creating, reviewing, and approving schematics, drawings, and specifications. Collaborate with mechanical engineers and project groups on detailed design, product research, and integration onto client vessels. Act as lead engineer for controls systems integration, supporting verification, validation, and equipment remediation activities. Oversee asset mobilization, demobilization, and documentation, developing service personnel training requirements. Interface with vendors and third-party departments to ensure project deliverables meet industry standards and stakeholder expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or other related engineering discipline from a EAC/ABET accredited program
- A strong understanding of electronics and their relationship to software, firmware, and mechanical interfaces and operation in a number of electrical specialties
- OSHA electrical safety work practices
- Hands-on electro-mechanical repair or assembly experience
- Proven teamwork, collaboration, and leadership skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A firm knowledge of electrical product safety
- Experience as a technical lead
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Wear steel toe shoes, safety glasses and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed in safety zone areas
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in working with NFPA 70, API 16D, API 17G, and API 17F preferred
- Experience with electronics used in harsh and hazardous environments
- Wide range of electrical engineering technological knowledge, including, but not limited to: Sensing and control systems, Ethernet communication systems at the physical and/or network level, Instrumentation and noise, Optimization of hardware and firmware integration architecture for best performance, Microcontroller technology, application and programming, Power distribution and transmission lines, Electromagnetic compatibility, Fiber optics and optical data links
