Senior Controls Engineer - Rockwell Systems Integration

Job Summary
Develop control logic software, user interface applications, and SCADA systems while assisting with initial start-up, debug, and system documentation for automation and control integration projects. Interpret piping and instrument diagrams, wiring diagrams, and vendor manuals to guide lower-level engineers and technicians on semiconductor, pulp and paper, and food and beverage sites. Requires a valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 25% to job sites within a cleanroom environment per semiconductor protocols. This role supports systems integration projects for clients across diverse industries. Wunderlich-Malec Engineering is a 100% employee-owned firm and an ENR Top 500 system integrator.
Required Qualifications
- Five to ten years in areas below
- An in-depth understanding of control systems, components, ladder logic programming, SCADA programming and their applications
- Experience with PLC programming of Allen Bradley PLCs (Rockwell 5, 500, 5000, Device Net, Point I/O)
- Experience with VFD programming
- Experience with Ignition or GE Cimplicity SCADA systems
- Experience with the development of sequence of operations, functional acceptance, and operational acceptance documentation
- Experience with PID loop tuning (Open and Closed Loops)
- Must have a valid driver's license
- the ability to travel up to 25% to job sites
Desired Qualifications
- Education BSEE or BS in Controls Engineering
- An AA in Engineering Technology or equivalent with equivalent experience
- additional experience in GE or other PLC platforms
- Python and SQL scripting experience
- Preferably Allen-Bradley or ABB VFDs
