Job Summary
Conduct forensic planning, schedule delay analysis, and acceleration assessments for construction claims on major rail projects. Analyze extension-of-time claims, assess damages, and formulate client defenses or counterclaims. Pre-qualify contractor submissions by verifying contractual compliance and substantiation, then investigate technical issues and critical path delays. Write comprehensive claims reports, prepare documents for peer review, and develop presentations for internal stakeholders. Support submissions to the Engineer and contribute to dispute resolution strategies. Requires a civil engineering degree, 10+ years of heavy civils experience, and strong Primavera skills.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in civil engineering
- At least 10 years of relevant post-qualification experience on heavy civils projects
- Rail/Metro sector construction experience
- Full membership of a technical professional institution (e.g., MICE, MRICS, IEAust, or equivalent)
- Knowledge of FIDIC contracts (or equivalent)
- Strong planning and programming background on multi-billion-dollar construction projects
- Strong background in major contract claims and dispute resolution
- Sound knowledge of SCL Protocols and AACE Recommended Practices for extension-of-time claims
- Good working knowledge of Primavera
- Fair knowledge or familiarity with TILOS
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Presentable and articulate
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in building programmes for extension of time using Primavera, or the ability to do so
- Bachelor's degree, English major preferred
