Job Summary
Senior Consulting Engineer/Architect for Building Technology acting as project manager for small to medium projects. Responsibilities include new design consultation, evaluation and repair design for existing buildings, coordinating multiple concurrent projects, mentoring junior staff, and maintaining strong client relationships. Responsibilities also include site visits, water leakage testing, façade surveys, drafting drawings and specifications for bidding and construction, coordinating investigations, producing investigation reports, and providing litigation support. Requires active professional licensing (P.E. or RA) and a Bachelor's degree (or Master’s with sufficient experience), with extensive travel to job sites. In-office role based in Oakland, CA, with flexible working hours. Proficiency with design and drafting tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office) and experience in building enclosure, waterproofing, curtain wall, and façade-related design and analysis are preferred. Travel to remote job sites and participation in industry groups/communications are expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Registered Architect (R.A.) license required
- Over 10 years of experience with an architectural/engineering firm, construction firm, or construction management firm OR Master’s Degree plus over 7 years of industry experience
- Ability to travel to remote job sites not accessible by public transportation, and if applicable, an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report
