Job Summary
Senior Transportation Analyst to support the DoD Transportation Directorate in developing, overseeing, and executing transportation policies, programs, and operations that ensure efficient use of DoD and commercial transportation resources. Apply broad logistics expertise to analyze requirements, develop innovative solutions, and enable end-to-end support to the warfighter through the Defense Transportation System. Responsibilities include governance of programs, drafting updates for transportation policies, directives, and regulations; managing policy exception requests, DTR changes, and domicile-to-duty approvals; overseeing JTMS operations and troubleshooting; conducting data analysis, reporting, and category management to inform decisions and improve efficiency; researching industry best practices and recommending process improvements to reduce redundancy and costs. Desired expertise covers knowledge of DoD transportation policies, the Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR), sealift operations (Deep Sealift), MARAD, MSC, SDDC, VISA, VTA, TSP, MSP, Charter, and cargo preference related to sealift, as well as the Jones Act; strong analytical, reporting, and stakeholder coordination skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Active Secret Clearance Required
- More than five years of relevant experience
- A Master’s degree can be substituted for two years of experience
