Job Summary
Conduct research, analyze comparable assessment data, and interpret market transactions to identify property tax savings opportunities for clients. Assist with assessment reviews, monitor appeal processes, and prepare reports based on property inspections. Reconcile databases, perform detailed calculations, and apply software knowledge to manage client data efficiently. Attend status calls, provide findings to leadership, and build client relationships by inquiring about industry trends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, Real Estate, Business Management, Public Administration, MIS/Entrepreneurship, International Business or other degree with MBA, MST or JD
- Valid driver's license
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research
- One to three years of property tax related experience
- Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States
- In-office attendance three days/week, typically Tuesday-Thursday
- Independent travel requirement: typically 15-25% regional travel for hearings and site visits
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
- Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Possesses knowledge in assessment review, appeal determination, tax bill administration and the three valuation approaches; cost, sales comparison and income
- Possesses knowledge of assessment equalization methodology that may apply in certain states
- Ability to collect, review and fully understand client-provided data
- Full understanding of the annual property tax cycle for assigned real property portfolios
- Builds awareness/understanding of jurisdictional rules and filing requirements
- Ability to effectively lead and coach others
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Commercial valuation experience
- Candidates with appropriate valuation designations preferred
