Job Summary
Senior Consultant Internal Control in the Risk Consulting team responsible for: performing internal controls work (incl. SOX), advising clients on risk and control questions and providing substantive input, analyzing processes to identify risks and define controls, designing and executing test strategies for evaluating control design and operation (including data analysis), supporting internal control projects (planning, execution, reporting, stakeholder alignment), actively contributing to project delivery, monitoring progress and quality, identifying and assessing the design and effectiveness of internal controls, collaborating with diverse stakeholders on multidisciplinary projects, supervising parts of projects and coaching junior team members, and building strong client relationships and internal collaborations; assisting in developing proposals and client-focused solutions; work location Amsterdam with hybrid work options.
Required Qualifications
- A completed WO Master degree (preferably in finance/accounting, economics, business administration, IT audit/control, law)
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in risk management, internal control, audit and/or SOX implementation/testing
- Proven ability to work independently on assignments and to lead (parts of) projects
- Strong written and spoken communication skills in Dutch and English
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment
- Strong stakeholder management and networking skills, ability to build durable client relationships
- Commercial acumen and ability to identify and seize client opportunities
- Proactive, results-oriented and entrepreneurial attitude
- Enjoy solving complex issues and developing innovative, practical improvements
- Team player with coaching capabilities and a desire to mentor junior colleagues
- Experience with relevant tools and frameworks (e.g., COSO, data-analysis tools) is a plus
