Job Summary

Translate customer shopping habits and business performance data into actionable merchandising strategies. Partner with banner planning and merchant teams to optimize product assortments, refresh category frameworks, and define guardrails for product breadth, depth, and pricing. Collaborate across merchandising, inventory, and enterprise functions to align product choices with customer needs while protecting category profitability. Prepare high-level visual and analytical materials for monthly performance reviews led by the CCO. This role supports Canadian Tire's enterprise assortment planning, balancing retail viability with financial performance to drive market-leading merchandising strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • Post-secondary university education
  • 3+ years of experience in an assortment planning, retail buying, commercial strategy, or retail consulting role
  • A strong understanding of Retail Math and financial key performance indicators (e.g., margins, inventory turnover, sell-through)
  • Demonstrated success managing cross-functional projects within a retail or consumer-goods environment
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • A proven track record of presenting recommendations to leadership
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to spot sales trends, assortment gaps, and commercial risks using performance data
  • An exceptional ability to translate complex data and category performance into clear, compelling stories for cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership
