Senior Consultant, Business Controls (7 Month Contract)

Job Summary
Manage operational risk, regulatory supervision, and loss management for Personal & Business Banking LOBs across Canada. Lead the management of material, systemic, and emerging risks for Borrowing Solutions while developing integrated control improvement solutions. Provide support of the Control Framework to ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements, including efficient deficiency remediation. Act as the key relationship manager for business partners and 2nd and 3rd lines of defense on all operational risk matters. Work closely with LOB partners to identify risk exposures, analyze root causes, and propose recommendations to mitigate control gaps. Lead the Change Initiative Risk Assessment process, manage all deficiencies for the LOB, and ensure closure dates are met. Act as a risk and control Subject Matter Expert providing advice to partners and lead Internal Audits and Compliance exams. Work in a hybrid arrangement with 2-3 days per week on-site.
Required Qualifications
- demonstrate experience in Personal and Small Business Banking products and channels
- deep understanding of key businesses and processes within the Banking Centres and Small Business
- extensive knowledge of risk management principles, practices, policies and procedures
- ability to communicate the Control Framework requirements (Operational Risk Profile, Scenarios, Deficiency Management, Key Risk Indicators) to LOB partners
