Job Summary
Senior Consultant in AECOM Advisory will define, lead and manage multiple tasks within a workstream for advisory engagements. Responsibilities include applying existing and hypothesizing new solution frameworks to deconstruct client problems; leveraging AI tools for baseline assessments and secondary research; conducting stakeholder interviews with C-suite and senior management; performing business modelling (market sizing, segmentation, penetration, adoption) and building custom discounted cash flow models to calculate revenue, cost-benefit analyses, EBITDA, NPV, IRR, CAGR for client policies, projects and programs; utilizing analytical and data visualization tools (ArcGIS, Costar, IMPLAN, Python, Tableau) to derive patterns and insights; supervising and providing quality control over analytical tasks for junior team members; creating highly-polished executive-ready decks to build buy-in and convey emerging data-driven insights; synthesizing inputs into coherent insights across formats (decks, narratives, playbooks, dashboards, toolkits); contributing to business development through solutions architecture, technical writing, pitch decks, and articulating AECOM Advisory’s value proposition; bringing commercial acumen around client needs and budgets; supporting risk management and compliance. Required competencies include curiosity about clients, strong interpersonal and client-service mindset, ability to work in a high-tempo, client-facing environment, self-direction, attention to detail, numerical reasoning and quantitative skills, and strong verbal/narrative skills. Preferred competencies include proficiency with data science techniques, geospatial datasets/software, economic modelling tools, programming languages (Stata, R, Python), and data visualization (PowerBI/Tableau). Qualifications also specify a Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of experience; MBA or Master’s degree preferred; and no sponsorship offer. The role involves collaboration within a global team, mentorship, and opportunities to influence client strategy and implementation across infrastructure, environment, energy, transportation, and buildings projects.
