Job Summary
Senior Construction Manager in Ontario leads end-to-end delivery of large highway/civil projects within the Major Projects group, using collaborative delivery models (design-build, IPD/alliance, early contractor involvement, design-assist). Responsibilities include establishing integrated project teams and governance, developing execution plans, schedules, risk registers, and GMP/target-cost models, overseeing design development for constructability and traffic management, managing cost control and change management, fostering a one-team culture with clients and partners, and guiding procurement, subcontractors, and junior project staff. Requires 12–15+ years in heavy civil/highway projects, experience with collaborative delivery models, civil engineering degree (P.Eng in Ontario preferred), and strong leadership, communication, and commercial acumen.
Required Qualifications
- 12–15+ years of progressive project management experience in heavy civil/highway infrastructure
- Degree in civil engineering or related discipline; P.Eng in Ontario (or eligibility) strongly preferred
- Proven track record delivering complex highway, bridge, or urban civil projects in Ontario
- Experience leading major projects (50M+), with collaborative models such as progressive design-build, alliance/IPD, PPP, or design assist
- Strong commercial acumen in cost control, open-book contracts, target cost/GMP development, and risk/reward sharing
- Proficiency with project management tools for schedule, cost, and document control
- Strong leadership and communication skills for cross-organizational teams and stakeholders
Desired Qualifications
- P.Eng in Ontario (strongly preferred)
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
