Job Summary
Conduct daily site inspections for heavy highway, bridge, and road projects to ensure contractor compliance with plans, specifications, and safety regulations. Monitor work zones for proper safety measures, including Maintenance and Protection of Traffic standards, and enforce environmental regulations. Prepare daily inspection reports, maintain logs of materials and project progress, and assist Resident Engineers by processing submittals and tracking pay items. This role requires 5+ years of Heavy Highway construction experience and NICET III or higher certifications. Based in New Jersey, the position involves travel to/from and on job sites. Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Heavy Highway construction
- NICET III and above
- ACI Field Grade I
- NJSAT (New Jersey Society of Asphalt Technologists)
- Rutgers TCC (Traffic Control Coordinator)
- Ability to read complex blueprints
- Strong written communication
- Familiarity with agency electronic record systems (Site Manager, CapEx)
- Familiarity with New Jersey Department of Transportation or New Jersey Turnpike Authority standards
- Reliable personal vehicle for travel to-from and on job site
- Strong communication and technical writing skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Efficient in Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel and Outlook
