Job Summary
Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements, safety regulations, and codes. Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials while measuring dimensions to verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures. Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities, assigning and scheduling subordinate staff throughout all project phases. Draft project correspondence, facilitate meetings, and resolve field issues while interacting with government agencies, contractors, and the public. Gather and maintain record documents and make field notes and computations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience)
- 7+ years of roadway construction inspection experience
Desired Qualifications
- Associates or bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
- Supervisory experience in construction management/inspection situations
- Ability to act in an Owner's Agent/Responsible in Charge role
