Senior Construction Inspector

Job Summary
Oversee daily field inspections of roadway, bridge, and utility projects to ensure compliance with contract plans, specifications, and CTDOT standards. Monitor contractor operations, including subcontractors and utility work, while verifying pay quantities and documenting material deliveries and testing. Prepare detailed daily reports on work activities, labor, and equipment, and coordinate with Project Engineers, clients, and third-party firms. Identify non-conforming work and assist in resolution, while providing guidance to junior inspection staff. This role supports CTDOT highway and municipal improvements and requires a valid driver's license and ability to travel daily.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4+ years of construction inspection experience on roadway, bridge, or utility infrastructure projects
- Strong working knowledge of CTDOT specifications, procedures, and documentation requirements
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities in a field environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites daily
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- NICET Level III or higher in Transportation Construction Inspection (TCI)
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I
- NETTCP Concrete Inspector
- NETTCP HMA Paving Inspector
- ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS)
- AMP BCI Level I Coating Certification
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector
