Job Summary
Independently estimate, bid, and manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout while maintaining project profitability. Review plans, specifications, contracts, and bid packages to perform detailed material, labor, equipment, and quantity takeoffs. Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing, then prepare accurate estimates, proposals, budgets, and bid packages. Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and scope reviews to identify risks, constructability issues, and value engineering opportunities. Manage awarded projects by coordinating schedules, procurement, deliveries, and field crews while monitoring progress, compliance, and budgets. Process RFIs, submittals, change orders, and closeout documentation to ensure successful project delivery.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial construction estimating and/or project management experience
- Proven experience preparing complete construction estimates and managing commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural, civil, structural, landscape, and site plans
- Experience performing material takeoffs, labor forecasting, subcontractor management, procurement, project budgeting, and cost control
- Knowledge of commercial construction means, methods, sequencing, and estimating practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and construction estimating/takeoff software
- Ability to manage multiple bids and active construction projects simultaneously
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel to project sites, customer locations, and pre-bid meetings as required
