Job Summary
Manage project specifications and oversee contract and construction documents, ensuring compliance with project contract language, current code requirements, and manufacturer information. Process construction administration documents including shop drawings, RFIs, change orders, pay applications, and closeout documents while performing preliminary reviews of submittals. Conduct onsite construction inspections two to three days a week to verify adherence to contract documents and resolve conflicts, preparing field observation reports and maintaining electronic construction plan sets. Coordinate completion of closeout documents and assist with project schedules and logs. Mentor design staff based on constructability feedback and lessons learned from field observations. Communicate effectively with internal staff and external clients regarding project inquiries and requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years of experience as a design engineer or construction administration professional or skilled tradesperson
- Proficiency with Adobe/Bluebeam and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Proficiency with Electronic Document Management Systems such as Newforma or Procore
- Demonstrated capability in coordinating with multiple design team members to manage construction related correspondence
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to listen and understand internal customer expectations
- Ability to manage schedules to meet critical deadlines
- Current work authorization in the U.S.
Desired Qualifications
- Anticipated 2-3 days a week of construction site visits to monitor progress of projects
