Senior Configuration Management Specialist

Job Summary

Maintain configuration control processes, manage version control and system baselines, and support change management processes for system development and program delivery. Work independently within a fast-paced contracting environment to manage multiple efforts with time-related constraints while collaborating with diverse internal and external stakeholders. Utilize tools such as Git, Jira, or Azure DevOps to execute these tasks effectively. Requires on-site presence five days a week and an active Secret security clearance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of configuration management experience
  • Experience supporting federal or DoD customers
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Ability to work on-site 5 days a week
  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Experience working in a home office setting
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone
  • Good phone skills
  • Professional demeanor
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DoD, CDAO, or federal system development programs utilizing configuration management, change control, release management, and lifecycle governance processes
  • Experience with configuration management and version control tools such as Git, GitLab, GitHub Enterprise, Jira, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms
  • Certifications such as ITIL Foundation, Security+, or equivalent
  • Ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues
