Senior Compliance Specialist, Consumer Operations

Job Summary

Manage the Compliance Program by conducting quarterly monitoring and testing of federal and state regulatory obligations, presenting findings to senior leadership, and driving corrective actions. Investigate credit reporting disputes and SCRA determinations, resolving routine requests directly or convening cross-functional discussions for complex cases. Monitor emerging state and federal legislation affecting consumer lending and loan servicing operations, translating new requirements into actionable guidance and operational changes. Lead compliance-driven projects from research through implementation, collaborate with business partners to identify risks, and develop practical solutions that balance regulatory requirements with business objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, or a related function within a regulated consumer financial services environment, including experience supporting consumer lending and loan servicing operations
  • Strong working knowledge of consumer financial services laws, regulations, and industry standards, including TILA, FCRA, FTC Act, ECOA, MLA, FDCPA, GLBA, UDAAP, SCRA, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements, and applicable state regulations
  • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and testing compliance controls, including evaluating control effectiveness, identifying compliance risks, and recommending corrective actions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and online research tools, databases, and regulatory resources
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to investigate issues, conduct root cause analysis, and develop practical solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risk, analyze operational processes, and recommend compliant, business-friendly solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present complex regulatory concepts to diverse audiences
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
  • Sound professional judgment with the ability to identify emerging risks, escalate concerns appropriately, and drive resolution
  • Adaptable and agile, with the ability to quickly learn new regulations, processes, and business requirements
  • All team members must reside in one of our approved locations by their start date

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting organizations subject to state regulatory oversight is preferred
  • Professional certifications such as CCEP, CRCM, CIA, or CAMS are preferred
