Job Summary
Senior Compliance Officer based in Sydney responsible for overseeing PIMCO Australia’s Compliance function, including implementing and monitoring the Compliance program, liaising with regulators, auditors, and clients, and collaborating with Legal, Operations, and Portfolio/Account Managers. Key duties include ensuring regulatory compliance and applying market best practices, managing licensing matters (applications, variations, cessations, and reporting), maintaining compliance manuals and policies, coordinating regulatory changes and projects, delivering compliance training, supporting internal and external audits, and providing regulatory perspective on business initiatives across APAC and global offices. The role requires an undergraduate degree in a related field and 8-12 years of risk, regulatory and compliance experience, with strong knowledge of the Australian financial services regulatory environment and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Law, Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics or other related field is required
- 8-12 years of relevant experience in risk, regulatory and compliance roles preferably in a major law firm, consultancy/accounting firm, or large global investment bank or investment management firm
- Strong knowledge of Australian financial services regulatory environment and compliance considerations
- Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders
