Job Summary

Senior Compliance Consultant role providing AML/EDD and overall compliance expertise for the Bermuda BU and Asia Segment. Responsibilities include leading Enhanced Due Diligence reviews, AML watchlist/transaction monitoring, privacy program management, incident reporting, and the development of policies and procedures. Acts as an individual contributor establishing goals, coordinating complex analyses, delivering training, and generating required compliance reporting. Collaborates with BU teams (Underwriting, Titles, Distribution) and other compliance colleagues, supports policy implementation, and leads special projects. Requires strong communication, analytical, project management, and relationship-building skills, along with an advanced understanding of regulatory requirements in Bermuda and Canada. Hybrid working arrangement based in Montreal, QC, Canada.

Required Qualifications

  • College/University Degree and/or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 years of related financial services, Compliance or management experience
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technology skills including knowledge of applicable Compliance or business systems
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong ethical compass
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the financial services industry with an advanced understanding of the Company’s businesses
  • Advanced understanding of the regulatory environment (primarily Bermuda and Canada) and a strong understanding of key compliance requirements applicable to the business
  • Strong negotiating, influencing, and relationship building skills
  • Ability to represent business internally within the company and externally outside of the company (e.g. regulators, industry peers)
  • Ability to work independently and with all levels of management within the organization
  • Strong project management skills
  • Relevant certifications, such as CAMS, or willingness to obtain certification(s)
  • Developing thought leader
  • Strong people/interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong business and product knowledge
  • Ability to analyze technical information, make appropriate recommendations to decision makers and ability to make decisions
