Job Summary
Senior Compensation Analyst for a part-time contractor role responsible for defining and managing a global pay and benefits program. Primary duties include developing a fair and competitive compensation philosophy aligned with business goals; utilizing methods and data-driven decision making for direct, indirect, and nonfinancial compensation; supporting recruitment, budgeting, year-end incentive processes, and regulatory compliance; conducting market surveys and benchmarking to determine prevailing pay rates; collaborating with legal, finance, and HR teams; and leveraging Workday compensation modules and external surveys (Mercer, BDO) to inform compensation decisions. The role requires strong Excel analytics, advanced data handling, and experience in benchmarking, job matching, and compensation data submissions. Location: Oxford, England (GB), hybrid remote option; Part-time 20 hours/week; contract-based engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with Workday Core and Advanced Compensation modules (configuration, data management, annual cycle support)
- Strong proficiency in Excel with advanced data analysis for compensation insights and reporting
- Knowledge of compensation data submission processes including annual submissions and spot surveys
- Practical experience with Mercer and BDO compensation surveys (data preparation, validation, submission)
- Proven capability in job matching and benchmarking using job libraries and market data from multiple vendors
- Familiarity with benchmarking methodologies to ensure market competitiveness and internal alignment
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail; ability to work with large datasets and translate insights into actionable outcomes
- Structured, process-oriented approach to compensation operations
- Effective collaboration with HR, Reward, and business stakeholders
- Post-graduate qualification in a related discipline (preferred)
- Certified Compensation Professional Certification is an asset (preferred)
- Educated to degree level or equivalent (ideally with postgraduate qualification)
- Experience in tech or pharma high-growth environments (preferred)
- Ability to support recruitment and talent management activities as part of the compensation function
