Job Summary
Provide companionship and emotional support to seniors in their homes, fostering trust and positive relationships. Assist clients with daily living activities such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, and errands. Accompany clients to appointments, social outings, and community activities while monitoring and reporting changes in client health, mood, or behavior to the care team. Engage clients in meaningful conversation, hobbies, and recreational activities to promote mental well-being. Maintain accurate client care records and documentation in accordance with company standards. Provide respite support to family caregivers as needed. Comprehensive initial training is provided.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to pass the DEARS (Drugs and Ethics) assessment.
- Clear criminal background check and vulnerable sector screening required
- Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong English communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking)
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a caregiving, companion care, or personal support role is an asset
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle considered an asset
- Genuine passion for working with seniors and elderly individuals
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, empathetic demeanor
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy with a professional attitude
