Job Summary
Senior Community Manager to build and lead Duolingo’s community function from scratch and own day-to-day operations across core channels (e.g., Reddit, Discord). Establish structure, playbooks, and scalable processes that uphold safety, trust, delight, and Duolingo’s tone; cultivate relationships with moderators, ambassadors, and superfans; monitor community health and sentiment, identify risks, and drive initiatives to grow participation and long-term value; partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Communications, and Customer Support to bring the community voice into the organization; requires 8+ years in consumer community management, across multiple platforms, with a data-driven, cross-functional, collaborative approach.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in community management for a consumer-facing brand
- proven experience growing and engaging online communities across multiple platforms (Reddit, Slack, Discord)
- strong instincts for tone, voice, and the dynamics of internet culture
- experience managing moderators, ambassadors, creators, or similar stakeholder groups
- data-driven approach to decision-making, with comfort interpreting qualitative and quantitative signals
- excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- experience navigating complex community conversations and stewarding online reputation
- Active Duolingo user
