Job Summary
Senior Community Advisor role focusing on delivering Community & Social Performance (CSP) activities across APA’s West region with emphasis on Pilbara-based operations. Responsibilities include coordinating CSP initiatives, developing and maintaining relationships with community stakeholders (including local councils, landholders, and First Nations communities), contributing CSP inputs for project tenders (EOIs and RFPs), and ensuring consistent, culturally appropriate stakeholder engagement practices across projects. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to apply CSP principles, practical implementation, and continuous improvement are key; the role supports project outcomes and aims to secure APA’s social licence.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations, or community and social performance, ideally within a complex operational or asset-based environment
- Sound understanding of stakeholder engagement practices and social risk considerations, with the ability to apply these in a practical, delivery-focused way
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective and respectful relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including experience engaging with First Nations communities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a broader team, managing competing priorities and delivering outcomes
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with a focus on practical implementation and continuous improvement
- Experience in the energy, infrastructure or resources sector, particularly in regional or remote environments such as the Pilbara, is highly regarded
