Job Summary

Define supplier strategy, manage optimization of supplier channels, and lead negotiations to allocate commodity needs across distributors, manufacturers, and contract manufacturers. Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Purchasing professionals to drive world-class supply chain performance while ensuring compliance with global policies through periodic audits. Lead and execute master supply agreements, manage supplier scorecards, and conduct quality audits with the Quality Assurance department. Communicate category risks and opportunities to upper management and leverage internal resources to deliver business outcomes. Identify potential new suppliers for direct sourcing and make recommendations on supplier selection and quality compliance. Maintain current market insights on cost drivers, global tariffs, and macro economy trends while functioning as a Subject Matter Expert for responsible components and manufacturing processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong commodity management and strategic sourcing experience, minimum 8 years of progressive experience
  • Understanding and experience in supporting the full lifecycle of contract management for procurement suppliers including contract workflow, drafting and review processes for contracts
  • Comprehensive understanding of the linkage between operational, commercial and legal issues inside supplier contracts
  • Ability to effectively lead contractual negotiations with suppliers
  • Familiarity with electrical commodities (magnetics, semi-conductors, PCB, LED, active/passive parts)
  • Strong previous experiences with major electronics distributors
  • Full understanding of master service agreement
  • Understanding of vendor management programs including VMI and Consignment
  • Ability to close the contract negotiation with legal department and suppliers on assurance of effective costs and parts availability
  • Robust people and technical skills that include developing strong relationships and solving complex problems
  • Self-starter
  • Excels in a team environment, driving demonstrated results
  • Strong business acumen and project management skills
  • Strong communicator, both within the team and to leadership, and to executives/senior leaders at external suppliers
