Job Summary
Implement an effective commissioning program for Clearway Utility Scale Renewable Energy projects, including planning preparation, safety oversight, and test report reviews. Coordinate with project teams, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies on First Build, Golden Row/Golden Tower installation inspections, and technical specifications. Build and maintain commissioning test trackers, review installation manuals, and ensure all installations comply with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations. Analyze inspection data to identify trends, implement corrective actions, and maintain lessons learned logs. This role involves 50% travel, a salary range of $128,000–$180,000 USD, and eligibility for an annual cash bonus. Clearway Energy Group is developing a nationwide pipeline of new energy projects to power millions of homes.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED
- 5-7 years of related experience
- Managing or commissioning of large utility scale projects
- Managing or commissioning of large utility scale projects and personnel
- Knowledge of construction risks and safety requirements
- Proven commissioning management experience in renewable energy
- Managing direct reports
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and contract exhibits
- Knowledge of renewable energy systems and components
- Knowledge of SCADA systems
- Knowledge of installation practices
- Knowledge of quality standards
- Versed in industry standards, codes, regulations related to utility scale PV
- Versed in industry standards, codes, regulations related to BESS
- Versed in industry standards, codes, regulations related to Wind
- Versed in industry standards, codes, regulations related to Substation construction
- Ability to switch between and track multiple projects and tasks based on project needs
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to identify potential commissioning issues and risks
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proactive approach to process improvement
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, OneNote, etc.
- Understand tools and equipment calibration procedures
- Availability to travel 50% of the time
