Job Summary

Devise, author, review, and execute test plans for factory acceptance testing, certification, and checkouts at customer sites. Develop clear plans for transit, including preparation and lifting operations, and coordinate mechanical, fluid, and electrical work during deployment while sourcing and managing remote vendors. Resolve technical issues with innovative solutions and create and maintain piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and component lists. Track, organize, and manage spare parts inventory for maintenance and support development testing and test stand upgrades. Work on-site in Hawthorne, CA, with approximately 20% travel time to sites around the US, including extended deployments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, aerospace, electrical, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience developing and commissioning control systems in hydrogen production, fuel cells, oil and gas, chemical plants, energy infrastructure or other relevant industries
  • Strong understanding of fundamental principles in mechanical, fluid, power, and control systems
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
  • Able to work on-site in Hawthorne, CA
  • Ability to travel to sites around the US (approx 20% time), including extended travel (about 1 month) for deployments

Desired Qualifications

  • Proven ability to interface with multidisciplinary functions of mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems
  • Experience and demonstrated proficiency in developing and implementing comprehensive work instructions and test procedures
  • A history of working directly with hardware and subsystems including, instrumentation, power systems, hazardous fluids, and structures in a controlled environment
  • Familiarity with industrial controls & data acquisition systems including Beckhoff TwinCAT and Ignition HMI platforms
  • Experience with Class I Div 2 hazardous environments, high and low voltage AC and DC systems
  • Knowledge of fluid components and instruments (pumps and motors, valves, regulators, heat exchangers, flow meters) and high power electrical systems (switchgear, transformers, rectifiers, VFDs)
  • When given a set of guiding objectives and principles, you can identify, prioritize, and execute on tasks with minimal supervision
  • A willingness to jump in and work side-by-side with technicians
  • You have strong organizational, documentation follow-through skills and take pride in the quality of your work
  • You are passionate about decarbonization and addressing climate change
