Job Summary
Lead negotiation and drafting of agreements with data providers, credit bureaus, government sources, and third-party vendors globally to secure access for identity verification and fraud prevention solutions. Structure deal terms covering permitted use, data rights, warranties, and audit rights while collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Privacy teams to translate technical requirements into enforceable contracts. Assess risk related to data ownership, IP, and liability, and develop AI-supported workflows to accelerate review and processing of data acquisition and platform-integration contracts. Maintain contract playbooks and guidelines to standardize deal cycles while preserving regulatory guardrails across jurisdictions. Train Sales and Product teams on data rights and permissible use limitations as Socure builds the identity trust infrastructure for the digital economy.
Required Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state
- At least 7 years of post-JD legal experience in a law firm or in-house legal department
- substantial experience negotiating data licensing, data acquisition, or data-sharing agreements
- Deep familiarity with data privacy and consumer-data regulatory frameworks, including FCRA, GLBA, and state privacy laws
Desired Qualifications
- experience with credit bureau, alternative-data, or data broker relationships
- Demonstrated success negotiating complex commercial data transactions, including data rights, IP, and liability allocation in agreements involving sensitive or regulated data
- ability to provide common-sense feedback on commercial aspects of contracts
- Experience negotiating technology integration, reseller, or platform-partner agreements
- SaaS platforms that embed or resell third-party data or services
