Job Summary

Lead contract negotiations for vendor and supplier agreements underpinning technology, laboratory, and data operations. Draft, review, and negotiate inbound commercial agreements including SaaS, technology licenses, master services, and marketing contracts. Collaborate with the privacy team to draft and negotiate Data Processing Agreements and security addenda ensuring compliance with privacy laws. Provide actionable legal guidance on risk mitigation and compliance to business stakeholders while developing AI-enabled legal playbooks and internal policies. Serve as a legal AI champion by selecting, building, and refining AI tools for contract review, drafting, and research. Stay current on legal and regulatory changes impacting commercial activities with a focus on privacy and data security. This AI-forward role requires a builder's mindset to design and improve how the legal team utilizes AI for faster, AI-first workflows.

Required Qualifications

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Strong academic performance
  • Active member in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong focus on technology transactions
  • Experience with complex commercial agreements
  • In-house experience at a technology or data-driven company
  • Proven ability to independently negotiate complex procurement, vendor, supplier, and technology agreements on a global scale
  • Deep knowledge of data privacy regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA/CPRA
  • Hands-on experience negotiating Data Processing Agreements
  • Demonstrated, hands-on proficiency using AI in daily legal work
  • Fluency with legal technology and CLM systems
  • Experience negotiating agreements involving AI and machine learning
  • Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills
  • Strong business judgment
  • Excellent communication abilities

  • CIPP/US certification
  • CIPP/E or other international certifications
  • A builder's mindset for legal AI
  • Track record of building prompts, workflows, or automations, or helping stand up AI or CLM tooling
