Job Summary
Senior Commercial Analyst provides essential support in the commercial and contractual management of contracts within one or more Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) or as part of the wider STEP programme. Builds on the Commercial Analyst role with autonomous activity, delivering commercial guidance, supporting procurement and contractual performance, and ensuring adherence to PA23 regulations. Responsible for drafting/reviewing complex contracts (including joint venture, supply, construction, and service agreements), managing post-contract processes (early warnings, change control, cost forecasting, financial reporting, payment mechanisms, cost validation, final accounts), mitigating commercial risks, producing high-quality reports, maintaining auditable documentation, and mentoring junior colleagues. Leads stakeholder engagement, drives continuous improvement, and upholds leadership values and inclusive culture. Requires experience in commercial/contract management, strong analytical skills, proficiency with contract management systems and Microsoft Office, and ongoing or completed professional accreditation (MCIPS/RICS or equivalent). Desirable experience in highly regulated environments and public/private sector exposure. BPSS clearance is required with potential SC clearance in the future. The role is based onsite at West Burton, Nottinghamshire with 3 days in-office per week, salary £35700, and relocation assistance available for eligible candidates.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in commercial or contract management, ideally within large, complex programmes or projects.
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical capability, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of proficiency in contract management systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
- Studying towards or willing to work towards membership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS), or Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) OR Alternative recognised Commercial accreditation.
