Job Summary
Review, accurately assign, and abstract diagnostic and procedural codes to encounters using designated coding classifications independently. Organize and prioritize complex coding work to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital targets. Assign the most appropriate diagnosis and procedures to reflect resource utilization during patient encounters. Recognize documentation clarification opportunities, initiate coding queries, and serve as a clinical coding subject matter expert. Support ongoing training and development of staff. This role requires advanced Medical Coding, Critical Thinking, and Medical Terminology skills with a minimum of four years of relevant experience.
