Job Summary
Execute independent machine setups and operate advanced multi-axis CNC equipment, including Vertical and Horizontal Machining Centers and Mazak turning centers, based on engineering blueprints and technical work instructions. Load, run, and monitor custom, close-tolerance parts to ensure precision quality, while maintaining your assigned workstation by tracking tool wear, performing minor maintenance, and keeping the cell clean and safe. Collaborate with the second-shift lead and maintenance department to optimize uptime and maintain steady workflow across the shop floor. This direct-hire track offers a 4x10 schedule (Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–1:00 AM) with voluntary Friday overtime available, in a family-owned custom job shop known for long-term stability and a craftsmanship-first culture.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen or Green Card holder
- Solid work history demonstrating reliability
- Daily commuting access to the Sugar Bush, WI area
- 3 to 5+ years of dedicated CNC setup and operation
- Experience with Vertical & Horizontal Machining Centers (VMCs/HMCs)
- Experience with Mazak vertical and horizontal turning centers
- Experience with Fanuc/Mazatrol controls
- Experience with precision inspection equipment
- Strong technical blueprint reading skills
- Ability to layout and verify part dimensions using micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and bore gauges
- Full commitment to the fixed 2nd shift schedule (Monday – Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM)

Desired Qualifications
- Technical school diploma, Associate Degree, or formal apprenticeship completion in CNC Machining or Precision Tooling
- Proficiency in reading G-code and M-code to execute minor program edits at the control to optimize cycle times
- Direct setup experience on Mazak multi-axis or twin-spindle turning equipment using Mazatrol conversational controls
