Senior CNC Field Service Technician

Job Summary

Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Tsugami machine tool equipment, controls, and related components at customer facilities across New England. Perform preventative maintenance, detect and resolve electrical and mechanical issues, and research problems using technical manuals and vendor resources. Communicate machine status and repair progress to customers, ensure accurate documentation is completed, and maintain partner relationships with suppliers. Travel up to 100% of the workweek, including overnight trips, to support these on-site service engagements.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED from a technical school
  • Minimum 5 years experience repairing CNC Machinery
  • Familiarity with the use of precision measuring equipment (dial indicators, micrometers)
  • Proven experience working with CNC controls
  • Basic understanding of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics
  • Advanced problem solving skills and attention to detail with technical proficiency
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and schematics
  • Intermediate to sophisticated level skills in software associated with Microsoft programs and other related business programs
  • A valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel up to 100% of the workweek; some overnight travel required
  • May be required to travel domestically within US
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple priorities
  • Able to think quickly, assess a situation and make a sound decision
  • Proven written and verbal communication, listening, organization and priority setting skills
  • Must be highly mobile, able to access all areas of the premises
  • Ability to concentrate and remain focused while prioritizing multiple tasks, responsibilities, and projects
  • Ability to sit for prolonged period of times
  • Able to perform bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and lifting of moderate to heavyweight material up to 50 lbs. with assistance from equipment or other employees
  • Ability to frequently use hands and arms
  • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach for extended periods while servicing equipment
  • Ability to work in tight spaces or awkward positions, including accessing equipment interiors and elevated areas
  • Strong hand–eye coordination and fine motor skills
  • Ability to work in industrial environments, with exposure to noise, lubricants, coolants, metal chips, and other manufacturing conditions, while consistently wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Experience with precision rotating machinery, spindles, precision bearings
