Job Summary

Develop, maintain, and generate CMM programs to inspect and verify production materials and components. Review blueprints and specifications to establish correct inspection criteria, determine program requirements based on design and engineering needs, and conduct quality control inspections using precise measurement tools. Ensure the precision machine remains calibrated and properly encoded, while troubleshooting programs and equipment issues with minimal escalation. Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality Engineers to evaluate parts quality, resolve production issues, and provide process improvement insights. Train team members on manual inspection equipment and proper measurement techniques, and develop standard operating procedures for inspection processes. Serve as a subject matter expert in CMM programming and metrology tools, researching and implementing new inspection software and equipment as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a related technical field preferred, or 5-10 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of ANSI/ASME, ISO, and GD&T
  • Familiarity with Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • Proficient with PC-DMIS
  • Knowledge of basic data analysis techniques (e.g. histograms, pie and bar charts, control panels)
  • Applies mastery level of inspection skills
  • Uses appropriate inspection tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, thread gauges) to accurately measure part features
  • Adapts and/or drafts advanced procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment to meet special inspection needs
  • Advanced ability to read engineering drawings and interpret, apply, and train others on proper GD&T usage
  • Researches, recommends, and implements new inspection software and equipment
  • Builds and maintains positive working relationships; adapts communication style to different audiences and personalities
  • Efficiently uses inspection software/equipment and calibration software to track pneumatic and metrology tool status
  • PC skills sufficient to navigate production reporting systems (SAP)
  • Ability to perform basic First Article Inspections (FAIs) using setup and manual inspection tools
  • Strong attention to detail

  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
  • Demonstrates strong time management skills with ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects
