Senior CloudOps Engineer - AWS -Microsoft

Job Summary

Lead incident response, problem management, and root cause analysis for critical issues while operating as a technical escalation point for delivery and operations teams. Drive automation and infrastructure-as-code using CloudFormation or Terraform to build, consult, and deploy new cloud solutions. Provide performance, security, and cost optimization recommendations for AWS environments within Microsoft-centric ecosystems. Manage and optimize highly available, scalable, and secure AWS solutions, including hands-on production support on a 24*7 roster-based on-call rotation.

Required Qualifications

  • Senior CloudOps Engineer role
  • Deep AWS expertise
  • Ability to operate as a technical escalation point for delivery and operations teams
  • Strong experience in AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (VPNs, Direct Connect, DNS, hybrid architectures)
  • Experience supporting Windows Platform in AWS
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Splunk, LogicMonitor, etc.)
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
  • Strong grasp of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks
  • Proven experience in managed services or enterprise support environments
  • Strong background in Level 3 support / escalation handling
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve Critical production issues
  • Experience with ITIL practices
  • Valid work rights for Australia
  • Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background checking process, including probity and police checks
  • Willingness to work Ops and afterhours production support (24*7) roster-based on call

  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting highly available, scalable, and secure AWS solutions
  • Experience managing and optimising AWS environments for clients operating within Microsoft-centric ecosystems (e.g., Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure integrations)
  • Providing performance, security, and cost optimization recommendations for cloud services
  • Capability enhancements
  • Building, consulting and deploying new cloud solutions
  • Leading incident response, problem management, and root cause analysis for critical issues
  • Hands-on in developing code, driving automation and infrastructure-as-code
  • Strong consulting skills
  • Curiosity and a desire to add value
  • ITIL certification
