Job Summary
Senior Cloud Platform Engineer on Prolific's Platform team, responsible for managing and optimising Kubernetes clusters in GKE via Terraform, implementing automation to reduce complexity, and guiding developers to self-serve while maintaining security/compliance standards. Role includes on-call rotation, technical leadership across GCP/Kubernetes, and collaboration to design golden paths and automation strategies. Requires extensive Kubernetes administration experience, Terraform, GitOps with ArgoCD, Terraform-based provisioning, Terraform for automation, Python/TypeScript coding, and familiarity with cloud security/compliance (SOC2, ISO-27001, Cyber Essentials). Remote work option with a London office presence.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience administering and optimising large-scale Kubernetes clusters
- Strong experience with Kubernetes tooling (Helm, kustomize)
- Strong experience with GitOps tooling (ArgoCD)
- Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform services and architecture
- Strong knowledge in GKE and Kubernetes production cluster maintenance and optimisation
- Strong experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and automation
- Solid programming skills in Python and/or TypeScript
- Experience creating developer-focused documentation and self-service solutions
- Strong customer empathy and support for internal teams
