Job Summary
Senior Cloud Engineer responsible for planning, designing, configuring and maintaining VyStar’s Azure cloud environments; lead cost optimization, security practices, and multi-system design; develop modular cloud solutions using IaC (Terraform, BICEP/ARM) and CI/CD pipelines; collaborate with architecture, development, and InfoSec teams; participate in on-call rotation and production deployments; ensure documentation and governance across cloud resources.
Required Qualifications
- A 4-year degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering or a related academic area.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a systems engineer or in a related position.
- 3+ years of experience managing a production Azure cloud environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud infrastructure
- Experience with automation technologies and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (AKS)
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, PowerShell
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps
- Experience with Terraform or other IaC tools
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, VPN)
- Familiarity with security best practices, compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA) and data protection in the cloud
- Ability to lead projects, communicate across teams, and provide incident bridge-line support
- Experience with DevOps practices and scripting to automate cloud/on-premises operations
- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and cost optimization practices
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, ARM/BICEP templates, and YAML-based deployments
- Knowledge of financial services industry considerations is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
