Job Summary
Senior Cloud Engineer responsible for building and managing a cloud-based infrastructure, integrating CI/CD, monitoring, and DevSecOps practices within SmithRx’s AWS-based environment. Key duties include container-based infrastructure design, end-to-end automation of deployment/monitoring/infrastructure management, collaborating with development teams to ensure scalability, reliability, and security, maintaining high availability, contributing to a security-focused culture, developing scripts to improve efficiency, maintaining regulatory compliance (HIPAA, SOC2), participating in on-call PagerDuty rotations, and driving pragmatic tradeoffs in infrastructure costs and resource utilization.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering
- BS or advanced degree in computer science or related field
- Extensive experience in containerized Cloud Native environments (AWS, Kubernetes/EKS)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred)
- Security-first mindset and secure development environments
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform a plus)
- Experience with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, DataDog, EventBridge)
- Experience with regulated environments (HIPAA, GDPR, SOC2)
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (RDS, Redis, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Redshift)
- On-call rotations experience
- FinOps practices and governance
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Shell)
- Experience with incident management and reliability (SRE)
- Ability to architect for scalability, cost efficiency, and compliance
- Experience with cloud automation and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
