Job Summary
Architect and implement high-availability, low-latency cloud infrastructure for Bitstamp's exchange platform, leading the transition to modern, containerized environments with Docker and Kubernetes. Manage end-to-end ownership of complex projects from design to deployment, executing high-priority integrations with Robinhood's global infrastructure while evolving the backend stack through intelligent automation. Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 reliability and solve difficult system problems, collaborating cross-functionally to influence engineering velocity. Based in London with in-person attendance of at least three days per week.
Required Qualifications
- 4–5+ years of relevant experience in cloud engineering
- strong background in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- experience modernizing legacy architectures
- Advanced knowledge of backend disciplines
- practical experience with AWS services (ECS, EC2, Aurora, DynamoDB)
- experience managing entire projects or processes
- ability to coordinate across different job areas
- ability to solve difficult, multi-faceted problems
- ability to guide and coach other employees
- ability to influence stakeholders outside of your immediate department
- ability to reach technical agreements
- practical knowledge of project management
- ability to manage complex administrative and technical logistics
