Job Summary
Senior Cloud Engineer responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining PAR’s cloud environments (Azure and AWS), with IaC implementations (Bicep, Terraform, ARM templates) and CI/CD automation (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions). Owns cloud security controls, cost optimization, governance, monitoring, incident response, on-call rotations, and disaster recovery across multiple cloud environments; collaborates with development teams and the Lead Systems Architect on roadmaps and platform evolution. Requires hands-on expertise across Azure compute, networking, and identity services, strong scripting skills, and experience adhering to SDLC and Change Management processes; familiar with PCI-DSS, SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001, and NIST frameworks. Certifications in Azure or AWS and production AKS experience are pluses.
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 8 years of professional cloud engineering experience
- Hands-on time in Microsoft Azure
- Working knowledge of AWS sufficient to maintain and support an existing application workload
- Strong scripting and automation skills in PowerShell, Python, Bash, or a combination
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform, or ARM templates)
- Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar)
- Experience operating within a recognized compliance framework (PCI-DSS, SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001, NIST, or similar)
- Solid understanding of SDLC and formal Change Management practices
- Experience designing for high availability, including backup, disaster recovery, and incident response
- Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated expertise across Azure compute, networking, identity, and DevOps/IaC services
- Production experience with AKS (Nice to Have)
- Azure certifications (Nice to Have)
- AWS certifications (Nice to Have)
- FinOps principles familiarity (Nice to Have)
- Experience with monitoring/logging (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics)
- Experience with ExpressRoute, Entra ID, and RBAC
