Job Summary
Design, build, and manage enterprise-scale Microsoft Azure environments, leading build, migration, and modernisation activities using Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and ARM/Bicep. Develop reusable code for networking, compute, storage, and platform services while embedding security, identity, governance, and resilience. Automate infrastructure deployment through DevOps and CI/CD practices, then troubleshoot complex connectivity and infrastructure issues. Provide technical assurance via design and code reviews, produce clear documentation and operational guidance, and work directly with clients to translate requirements into pragmatic solutions. Mentor engineers to raise delivery standards. Requires Security Check (SC) clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive hands on experience delivering Microsoft Azure infrastructure within enterprise environments
- Proven experience delivering Azure build and migration programmes, including provisioning enterprise scale environments
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and ARM / Bicep
- Strong Windows and Linux Azure VM experience
- Good understanding of Azure architecture, networking, identity, security and governance
- Experience delivering secure, production grade cloud infrastructure
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving capability
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with clients and technical stakeholders
- Ability to produce clear, high quality technical documentation
- Microsoft Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator or Azure Solutions Architect, or demonstrable equivalent experience and continued professional development
- Security Check (SC) clearance or be eligible and willing to obtain SC clearance as part of your employment with UBDS Group

- Azure Storage including Blob Storage, Managed Disks and Azure Files
- Azure Governance including Azure Policy, RBAC, Resource Manager and management group structures
- Azure Operations including Monitor, Defender, Bastion, Automation, Backup and Site Recovery
- Azure migration using Azure Migrate and other enterprise migration tooling
- DevOps, automation and CI/CD practices for cloud infrastructure
