Job Summary
Senior Cloud Developer role responsible for designing, developing, and supporting cloud-based applications within HPE’s cloud portfolio. The role emphasizes hands-on coding, end-to-end feature ownership, and independent work while providing technical guidance to peers. This is an onsite/Hybrid position in Roseville, CA (Sacramento area) with a strong preference for local candidates. Key responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and supporting cloud-based software solutions; owning features end-to-end from investigation to post-release resolution; translating requirements into technical designs; participating in code and design reviews; collaborating with product managers and other engineering teams; participating in agile practices; and mentoring junior engineers. Required skills include Go and/or Python, cloud-native development, microservices, Kubernetes, containerization, testing and debugging, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts. Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field; 7–10+ years of experience; strong ownership and collaborative mindset. Knowledge of networking fundamentals and prior production support or mentoring experience is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
- Typically 7–10+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong hands-on programming experience in Go (Golang) and/or Python
- Experience developing and supporting cloud-based applications
- Understanding of microservice architectures and cloud-native development
- Experience working in containerized environments (e.g., Kubernetes)
- Experience with testing methodologies, debugging, and writing test plans or scripts
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and design decisions
- Preferred: Networking fundamentals, experience mentoring engineers
- Hybrid work arrangement with onsite requirement in Roseville/Sacramento area
