Senior Closing Manager

Job Summary
Review, negotiate, and approve development-related legal documents to minimize legal risk while acting as a closing subject matter expert on LIHTC application requirements, HUD authority, financing, and title issues. Draft agreements, amendments, purchase agreements, and entity documents, then lead the financial closing process for complex real estate transactions including affordable multifamily acquisitions and market rate developments. Provide direction to the closing team, assign tasks to originations and attorneys, and monitor outside counsel to ensure organizational interests are protected. Approve legal invoices in Legal Tracker and report all resident complaints, allegations of abuse, and compliance violations to appropriate supervisors. This hybrid role works Tuesdays through Thursdays in the Central Ohio office with remote days on Mondays and Fridays.
Required Qualifications
- Paralegal Certificate
- Minimum of 5 years of experience closing multifamily affordable housing real estate transactions
- Good working computer skills
- Basic professional computer software (Microsoft Office suite, Windows, etc.)
- Capacity for learning new software systems quickly
- Excellent communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
- Ability to make self-understood
- Self-directed
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to manage tasks and assignments concurrently
- Ability to successfully lead others in an environment of complexity
- Strong motivational skills
- High emotional intelligence quotient (EQ)
- Must be a registered attorney or paralegal in good standing
- Minimal, 2-4 times per year for conferences and/or organizational events
- Hybrid role works at our Central Ohio office Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
- Hybrid role works at home on Mondays and Fridays
