Job Summary
Provide emergency veterinary services and ongoing care for companion animals, including exotics, while diagnosing small companion animals and making therapeutic treatment recommendations. Strictly adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and protocols. Support and train trainees, veterinarians, and veterinary nurses in patient care aspects. Maintain accurate hospital patient records and ensure precise billing estimations during shifts. Communicate directly with clients regarding prescribed treatments and costs. Participate in shifts according to the ROTA and manage departmental workflow effectively. Resolve adverse incidents and complaints by bringing them to the attention of the Veterinary Practice Coordinator or Hospital Operations Manager.
Required Qualifications
- BVSc & AH
- minimum four years of clinical experience
- Masters in clinical subject
- minimum three years of experience (Medicine, Surgery, Reproduction)
- Ability to work rotational shift work, including night shifts, weekends and public holidays
- flexible in work hour patterns
- Excellent organizational, time and workload management skills
- ability to prioritize workload to meet strict deadlines
- Highly effective communication, customer service and interpersonal skills

Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital or veterinary referral hospital
- Demonstrated computer skills and experience with computer systems used in veterinary practices, in particular VetBuddy/patient management software
- Experience in a busy, dynamic and time-sensitive environment
