Job Summary
Senior Clinical Systems Analyst responsible for leading the analysis, design and optimization of complex clinical workflows within Gippsland Health Alliance's multi-site environment. Provides senior-level consultancy to clinical and operational stakeholders on system enhancements, interoperability design, and clinical informatics best practices. Oversees clinical systems implementation and upgrade activities, including current/future-state analysis, change management, risk assessment, testing, go-live and benefits realization. Serves as escalation point for complex incidents and system issues, conducts root-cause analysis, and develops preventive strategies to enhance safety and reliability. Designs and delivers training, competency frameworks, and learning resources to support sustained adoption and optimization of clinical information systems. Possesses tertiary qualification in a related field and at least 5 years’ experience in clinical systems or health informatics; strong knowledge of hospital workflows, patient safety principles, and clinical data standards; proven experience in EMR/enterprise clinical system implementations across multi-site health services; demonstrated stakeholder engagement with senior clinicians, executives, vendors, and cross-functional teams; strong leadership and analytical capabilities with a drive for innovation and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Health Information Management, IT, Computer Science, Clinical Informatics or related discipline with at least 5 years’ experience in clinical systems or health informatics roles
- In-depth knowledge of hospital workflows, patient safety principles and clinical data standards
- Proven experience leading or significantly contributing to EMR or enterprise clinical system implementations across multi-site health services
- Strong stakeholder engagement capability, with experience influencing senior clinicians, executives, vendors and cross-functional teams in complex governance environments
- Advanced analytical, organisational and leadership skills, with a commitment to innovation, continuous improvement and high-performance team culture (postgraduate qualifications or ITIL/PM certifications desirable)
