Job Summary

Lead day-to-day delivery of the Hear Alert trial within the operating theatre and clinics, recruit and support participants, acquire and quality-assure complex cochlear implant electrophysiology data, and collaborate with engineers, clinicians, and industry to advance next-generation cochlear implant care. Drive protocol governance, ethics submissions, participant journey management (recruitment, consent, training, support, retention), data integration and interpretation, and dissemination through publications and industry-facing reports. Mentoring students and staff and fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration across academic, clinical and industry partners; work in an environment that includes intraoperative recordings and home monitoring as part of longitudinal trials.

Required Qualifications

  • Hold a PhD or equivalent in audiology, neuroscience, biomedical science, biomedical engineering or a closely related clinical discipline
  • Substantial experience conducting human clinical studies, including ethics submissions, consent processes, recruitment and longitudinal retention
  • Hands-on expertise with clinical electrophysiology systems and ability to work within operating theatre or procedural environments
  • Capability in managing complex clinical datasets, including database design, data integrity checks and regulatory-grade documentation
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, clinicians, engineers, industry partners and participants across multidisciplinary, multi-site trial environments
  • Contribute peer-reviewed outputs and mentoring; translate neurophysiology into clinically impactful hearing technologies
