Job Summary
Senior Clinical Practitioner with 12-month fixed-term contract, based in London, providing clinical oversight and specialist input across Children’s Social Care, Mental Health Services and Adult Social Care for care-experienced young people and care leavers aged 16–25, embedding trauma-informed and mentalisation-based practice, offering clinical consultations, supervision and risk formulation, coordinating referrals, and supporting multi-agency collaboration. Responsibilities include embedding Barnet’s mentalisation approach, supporting transition planning, delivering reflective supervision, and contributing to Joint Transitions Tracking Panel; requires experience with complex mental health needs and a collaborative, cross-agistry approach. The role may offer hybrid working.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified and experienced mental health practitioner
- Strong grounding in trauma-informed, mentalisation-based and systemic practice
- Experience working with care-experienced adolescents, care leavers or young adults with complex mental health needs
- Confidence providing clinical consultation, supervision and advice within multi-disciplinary environments
- Collaborative approach across Children’s Services, Mental Health and Adult Social Care
- Commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable young people as they transition into adulthood
