Senior Claims Examiner, General Liability

Job Summary
Manage commercial claims for high severity, complex general liability, and excess/umbrella policies across the United States by identifying coverage issues, drafting position letters, and retaining counsel when necessary. Develop resolution strategies to mitigate indemnity and expense exposures while investigating claims, reviewing insured materials, and analyzing statutes and litigation reports. Direct risk transfer and indemnity issues, prepare reserve recommendations, and negotiate resolutions through mediations and trials. Maintain daily contact with carriers, underwriters, defense counsel, and brokers to communicate developments, utilizing strong negotiation skills and technical expertise in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Seven to ten (7-10) years of working experience with a primary and or excess carrier supporting commercial accounts for Casualty claims
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal), evaluating, influencing, negotiating, listening, and interpersonal skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to take part in active strategic discussions
- Demonstrated ability to work well independently and in a team environment
- Hands-on experience and strong aptitude with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Willing and able to travel 10%
- Hybrid in office 3 days a week
- Bachelor's degree or 10 years of working experience in lieu of degree
- Proper & active adjuster licensing in all applicable states
