Job Summary
Senior Claims Examiner role overseeing a diverse portfolio of commercial property and liability claims within Sovereign Insurance. Responsibilities include setting up and investigating claims within authority, directing adjusters/appraisers/solicitors to progress claims, reviewing policy wordings and drafting coverage letters, maintaining knowledge of coverage and settlement procedures, reporting on loss and expense reserves, and liaising with underwriting. Requires 3-10 years of claims experience (multi-line preferred), CIP/FCIP or progress towards designation, Guidewire experience, and strong negotiation and file-management skills. Hybrid work model with locations in Halifax, NS and Toronto, ON. Salary range $72,847–$121,411 plus potential incentive programs; benefits and pension offered.
Required Qualifications
- CIP, FCIP or working towards designation required
- 3-10 years claims experience with emphasis on multi-line claims
- Experience with Guidewire in a paperless claims environment is beneficial
- Detail oriented work requiring high concentration
- Confidentiality and discretion in client matters
